How do hearing aid batteries work?
The positive electrode of Panasonic hearing aid batteries, also known as zinc air batteries, does not contain any active materials. Because this battery reacts with air, it is critical to remove the tag before inserting the battery into your device. Allow the battery to breathe for several minutes before inserting it into your device.
Before peeling off the seal, the initial voltage is 1.0 to 1.2V, while the nominal voltage is 1.4V. Once the seal is removed, the battery's voltage will gradually rise. For your information, the nominal voltage stated in the JIS standard is maximum 1.68V and minimum 1.3V.
Because a positive electrode requires no space, a more active material can be used for the negative electrode. As a result, the battery can be used for a longer period of time.
